Fred was our first resident back in May 2015 and is enjoying life at Wentworth Court. Fred and his wife, Doris recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a party at Wentworth Court.

Doris and Fred met when they were 17, with Fred living next door to Doris’s aunt in Charlton Kings. The couple were married in 1955 and initially set up home in Fairview then spent most of their married life in Charlton Kings before latterly living in Bishop’s Cleeve.

Fred trained as an engineer and worked at an agricultural garage in Prestbury. Later in his career, he looked after the gardens at the Sue Ryder home in Leckhampton.

Fred has always enjoyed fishing and the family spent many weekends at their mobile home near Bredon as well as summer holidays by the sea in Weymouth.

We were delighted that Fred and Doris celebrated their special day at Wentworth Court, surrounded by family and friends.
