When we had to move my 95yr old father from supported 'independent' living into 24hr residential care we did a lot of research into suitable placements and spoke to social and healthcare professionals. We visited several properties on the resulting shortlist and Wentworth Court was by far the most impressive. Modern, purpose built, clean, light and airy with plenty of clearly identifiable staff on hand. The rooms are of a decent size and Dad could have his pictures on the wall and knick knacks displayed which made it feel 'his'. The outside space is very pleasant to sit in and walk around. He greatly enjoyed the company of others and the arranged programme of activities. He particularly enjoyed sitting in the entrance atrium watching the comings and goings. The food was very good too.
The care he received throughout his all too short stay was exceptional, delivered with compassion and empathy.
My recommendation? - Among Dad's last words.......' I like it here'.
