At Wentworth Court, our celebration of Burns Night unfolded with warmth and togetherness, as the home filled with smiling faces and the comforting sense of tradition being honoured together.
The heart of the home came alive as children from All Saints Academy joined residents for a hands-on shortbread activity. Ingredients were gently mixed, hands worked side by side, and stories flowed freely. In these moments, generations connected with ease, memories were stirred, and new friendships quietly took shape.

Excitement grew with the much-anticipated arrival of the haggis, welcomed in true Scottish tradition. The children took great pride in reading the Address to a Haggis, their voices filling the room with confidence and care. Their enthusiasm brought smiles, laughter, and a real sense of ceremony, making the moment all the more special for everyone involved.

Our Wellbing Lead Sarah, commented:
“It was absolutely lovely to see the residents sharing an activity with the children. Moments like these are so special; they create genuine connections and bring so much joy to everyone involved.”
The celebration held particular meaning for Jim and Alex, Wentworth Court’s proud Scottish residents. Their joy was unmistakable as they marked a day rich in history and heritage. Jim, fondly known throughout the home as our very own capped Scottish rugby player, added an extra layer of pride to an already memorable occasion.
The morning served as a gentle reminder of what lies at the heart of life at Wentworth Court: the power of community, the joy of shared traditions, and the quiet magic that happens when generations come together to create moments that will be treasured long after the day has passed.
